What is the TENS technique adapted for overactive bladder?

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) involves transmitting electrical impulses close to an innervated area via electrodes placed on the skin, to act on nerve transmission. For the Tensi+, this stimulation targets the posterior tibial nerve located on the inside of the ankle.

This straightforward treatment, Tensi+, has been developed in collaboration with urologists and overactive bladder specialists.

The Tensi+ medical device utilises the TENS technique, which is non-invasive, non-medicinal, and free from side effects. Clinical studies have shown that the TENS technique delivers proven results after 3 months of treatment, with some patients experiencing the first effects as early as 6 weeks.

  • If you have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or any other implanted electronic device. Use under these conditions could result in electric shock, interference, burns, or pacemaker malfunction.
  • If you have a metal implant near the stimulated area. Use under these conditions could result in burns or interference with Tensi+.
  • If you have joint problems in the ankle, ankle edema, or dermatological issues in the area where the electrodes are to be placed.
  • On damaged skin.
  • If you are pregnant.
  • If you have a cognitive impairment.
